The Course Terms & Conditions of The Academy of Psychic & Spiritual Studies’ Home-Learning Certificates
All correspondence courses provided by The Academy of Psychic and Spiritual Studies (hereafter referred to as “The APSS”) are subject to the following terms and conditions:
The APSS reserves the right to refuse any application. Students are deemed officially enrolled once they submit the first installment of their fees, this action also means that they are agreeing to these terms and to the fact that they are 18 years old or over.
For the fees quoted The APSS will supply the online course materials and may notify students of any future practical training workshops on dates decided by The APSS (at its sole discretion) throughout the duration of any course.
Overseas students shall be responsible for paying any import or export duties or taxes which may be imposed.
Initial course materials will be sent to you within 21 days of enrolment. If you do not receive them within this period, you must notify The APSS immediately; otherwise, The APSS shall be entitled to assume you have received them. Your course is delivered to you, and completed by you, entirely online; and you must maintain a working email address throughout the duration of your course.
You can study as and when it is convenient for you; however, by enrolling on any course you are agreeing to complete your course within 12 months, after which time, if you have not completed it, you will lose your place on your course, and you will forfeit any fees that have already been paid. All course fees and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
In accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have a cooling off period in which you may cancel your enrolment by giving notice to The APSS in writing or by email. In the case of distance learning courses, this right expires 7 working days from the date of your first receipt of course materials. In the case of practical training workshops, this right expires 7 working days from the date of contract (normally the date when you make your first payment) or upon your practical training workshop commencing (if sooner). In the event of cancellation, all course materials must be returned to The APSS in good condition.
The APSS warrants that all course materials will be prepared and any practical training workshops and training support will be provided with reasonable care and skill. Subject thereto, The APSS shall have no liability to any person for any loss or damage, however occurring, whether direct or indirect, resulting from your enrolment on any course/s. The APSS’s liability shall in any event be limited to the fees paid by you for participation in the course.
You must observe all The APSS’s rules applicable to the course. If you commit any breach of such rules or are guilty of any offensive behaviour, or The APSS has reasonable grounds for believing that you are likely to misuse your course qualifications, The APSS shall be entitled to expel you from the course, without reimbursement of any fees that you have already paid.
Copyright in all of our course materials is owned or licensed by The APSS, and copying, adaptation, or other use such as publication or reproduction in any format without the written permission of The APSS is strictly prohibited.
The APSS may use your personal data for administrative purposes and may keep this information for a reasonable period, and may contact you to let you know about any updates which might be of interest to you. If you have booked the course for another person, your booking confirms that they have authorised you to act for them, and to consent to the processing of their personal data and to receive any fair collection notices on their behalf.
If you have booked the course for another person, these terms and conditions shall be binding on you and the participant and references herein to “you” shall mean or include “the participant”, where appropriate. It shall be your responsibility to ensure that these terms and conditions are brought to the notice of the participant and you shall indemnify The APSS against any loss, damage or liability resulting from your failure to do so.
The APSS reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any practical training workshop/s.
In undertaking any work, you must take care to ensure that the work is within your competence and within the boundaries of your training and experience. Theoretical knowledge in any profession should always be accompanied by rigorous practical training and ongoing supervisory assessment. You should seek further advice or instruction from The APSS, if necessary.
You must complete all payments and successfully complete your course prior to issue of certification.
If paying by installments, you agree to pay your installments promptly. The APSS reserves the right to withhold course materials if any payment is overdue. If you have elected to pay by installments, you may terminate your participation on the course at any time by giving 2 months’ notice in writing. The notice should be sent to the Administrator at The APSS’s only postal address, which is: “Voices”, PO Box 8, Swansea, SA1 1BL. If you do so you will still be liable to make any payment already outstanding at the date when you give notice; and to make any further payment that falls due during the notice period.
Course content may be subject to periodic changes.
Any complaint about the course should be notified to the Administrator at The APSS’s address (in clause 16).
