The Universal Law of Attraction operates on the thought-principle that whatever we repeatedly think about, and believe in, we shall receive, whether we want it or not.
Here’s an extract from Stephen O’Brien’s book In Touch with Eternity (1992):
Like Attracts Like; ‘Birds of a feather, flock together’. You draw to you what you are; and during your eternal quest, every single scar or moment of joy is indelibly registered on your soul.
Nothing is ever wasted or forgotten.
The mind is a picture-making, recording substance - an Essence of Spirit Consciousness Itself which, when we think of something, images it as a reality.
Rather like a ‘living’ movie, our thoughts are projected onto the screen of our lives.
We are the originators: we create the plot, write the script, engage the other participants, direct the action, and also play out the drama ourselves.
And because each line of dialogue is forever stored, filed away in a vast living
memory-bank (an ever-accessible energy-pool or library of experiences) not one idea or expression is ever lost: they all remain ‘alive’, deep within the furthest reaches of the mind.
Nothing is ever ‘finished’, ‘lost’, ‘irretrievable’, or experienced without some ‘hidden’ purpose.
We are the masters of ourselves, the captains of our own destinies; and there’s nothing so insurmountable that it can obstruct or prevent us from steering the ships of our lives through peaceful waters, if that’s what we really want.
Destructive Negative Forces thrive in grumbling statements such as ‘Why did this terrible thing happen to me?’ Or ‘Why didn’t someone else suffer this tragedy?’ Or ‘Look at others - they’ve lived privileged lives; nothing bad has ever happened to them’.
But the sea of life tosses everyone hither and thither in a turbulent mass of experience, no matter who we are, or who we might think we are.
It’s important to remember this:
we become what we think we are.
